At the corner of Sauerfelder Strasse and Freiherr-vom-Stein-Strasse
The “Amtshaus” for Luedenscheid’s surrounding communities, known earlier collectively as Luedenscheid-Land, was built in 1910 and initially housed the administrative council and the “Amtssparkasse”, the official community bank. In 1969, the local administrative borders were redrawn, combining Lüdenscheid and Luedenscheid-Land into the city of Luedenscheid. The Amtshaus lost its function at that time, but today enjoys protected monument status and proudly features the preserved Luedenscheid-Land administrative council chambers as they once were. Today the Amtshaus belongs to the city of Luedenscheid and is a component of the Luedenscheid municipal museums.
The work of the Sigrid Sandmann will be on display at the “Altes Amtsgericht” location.
